Valerie is Biotactica's U.S. Patent Manager. She is responsible for working with clients, contract research organizations, patent attorneys and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to coordinate all aspects of the U.S. patent application process. In addition, she continuously monitors the rapidly changing USPTO filing and prosecution regime, especially as it relates to biotechnology patent applications, and provides periodic updates to Biotactica clients.

Valerie comes to Biotactica from a prominent international law firm where she worked for more than nine years. She was a member of the Intellectual Property Department in which she focused on all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution. She routinely prepares complex biotechnology sequence listings, researches and assembles scientific prior art, and drafts biotechnology patent figures.
